The Dartmoor Lodge: -   NOTICES

CHARITY

Freemasonry has always been concerned with charity. We aim to practice charity, not only to our families and friends, but to the whole community and the world at large. Freemasonry has always been, and will continue to be, concerned with the care of orphaned, sick and aged members of the community.

Dartmoor Lodge, like all other lodges, contributes money locally to various charities and causes as detailed below. We also contribute money to the province (in our case the Province of Devonshire) and the United Grand Lodge of England.

The Province then dispense money more widely throughout the province (in our case, Devonshire) on a larger scale, and also contribute to the United Grand Lodge of England.

UGLE then distribute on an even larger scale at national and international level!

All monies are distributed with no "expenses" deducted.

In addition to money contributed to the Province, as detailed above, the Dartmoor Lodge donates over £2,000 directly to local organisations most years, some of the funds being raised through social events as included on our NEWS page.

Direct recipients of funds from the Dartmoor Lodge over the last few years include  the Devon Air Ambulance,  the British Heart Foundation,  South Brent School,  South Brent Brownies,  Sarah Cooke Appeal,  Devon Freewheelers,  Derriford Children's Cancer Service,  Derriford Neo-natal Trust,  Ugborough Football Club,  South Brent After-School Club,  Modbury Caring,  South Brent Caring,  Stephanie Doree Appeal,  Rowcroft Hospice,  South Brent Scouts and Girl Guides,  and  St.Petrocs Church.  There are also many small donations to local people and appeals etc.

Since 2010, the Dartmoor Lodge has donated over £16,000 directly to local Charities and benevolent causes!

Freemasonry donates more money to charity and benevolent causes than any other organization in the United Kingdom, after the National Lottery !
